By Air:-
The closest air terminal is Jollygrant Air terminal in Dehradun. Chipper Award Air terminal is around 20 km from Rishikesh and 285 km from Joshimath.
By Road:-
There are frequent buses available from ISBT Delhi, Kashmiri Gate. It takes around 8-9 hours to get to Rishikesh from Delhi. AC Bus tickets cost about Rs 900.
Itinenary for Chenap Valley Trek
Day 1: Delhi – Rishikesh
In the morning drive to Rishikesh. When you reach, Check into the hotel. Go and see the Aarti at Ganga Ghat.
Day 2: Rishikesh – Joshimath
Post breakfast drives to Joshimath via Devprayag. On the way visit the Sangam of two holy rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda at Dev Prayag. It is from here the Ganga river begins its journey.
Day 3: Joshimath – Vishnu Prayag (10 km by street) – Thaing Town
Drive to Vishnu Prayag and begin Trek for Thaing Town. To enter the valley you have to cross the bridge at Vishnuprayag. Overnight in the camp.
Day 4: Thaing Town – Dhar Kharak
Wake up early to start your trek to Dhar Kharak or Baidwa Kharak. You will stroll through dense forests. Rest at Dhar Kharak. Overnight visit to the camp.
Day 5: Dhar Kharak – Chenab
Today Trek begins from Dhar Kharak and closes at Chenab Knoll. There are around 500 types of flower blossoms in this valley. From here you can head towards Badrinath via Neelkanth. Overnight stay in Camp.
Day 6: Chenab Valley – Thaing Town
After your breakfast, trek down to Thaing Town. Overnight visit to the camp.
Day 7: Thaing Town – Vishnu Prayag – Joshimath – Srinagar (160km/5-6 hours)
Wake up early in the morning and have your morning meal. Trek down to Vishnu Prayag and from that drive to Srinagar through Joshimath, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag. When you reach Check into the hotel. Overnight stay in camp.
Day 8: Srinagar – Rishikesh – Haridwar – Delhi
After breakfast drive to Delhi through Haridwar. By the night you will arrive in Delhi. Explore the city and back to your destinations.
