It is located at a height of 3,353mts above sea level. It falls in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand. The Pindari Glacier Trek is one of the most approachable glaciers in the Kumaon region. It is rolled out over an area of 3.2km.

The glacier gives its origin to the river Pindari, which converges with the Alaknanda at Karnaprayag in the district of Garhwal. The trek to the glacier amazes the trekkers as the entire journey is charged with magnificent beauty and serenity.

By Air:

Pantnagar Airport is the nearest airport located at a distance of 205 km from Bageshwar. So you can board your flight to Pantnagar and then take a cab further to your hotel. But, it depends upon availability another option is Jolly Grand Airport, Dehradun.

By Road:

Almora-Bageshwar-Munsiyari road gives access to Khati which is approx 59 km from Bageshwar and approx 210 km from Kathgodam. The trekkers will start their trek from here as that is the starting point of the trek. 

By Rail:

The nearest railway station is Kathgodam railway station which is situated at a distance of 171 km from Bageshwar. 

Pindari Glacier Trek Itinerary

Day 0: Delhi – Kathgodam (by train )

Arrive in Delhi. Board your AC train/Bus for Kathgodam/Haldwani railway station in the evening. After arriving at Kathgodam in the morning take your cab to Khati village. You can be reached by evening. 

Relax and take a good bath. Eat your dinner and take plenty of rest to get yourself acclimatized. In the evening go hunt local markets and do some last-minute shopping. Although the options are limited in Khati.

Day 02: Khati – Dwali (12km)

Get up early in the morning and have breakfast. Post breakfast you will start your trek to Dwali. This trek route passes through dense forests and small streams, providing beautiful views of the Himalayas.

Day 03: Dwali – Phurkiya 

Again wake up early in the morning and have breakfast and begin your trek from Dwali and hike for 5-6 hours to reach the campsite in Phurkiya. The Trek route passes through scenic landscapes and offers panoramic views of the Pindari Glacier and surrounding peaks. Set up camp at Phurkiya and rest for the night.

Day 04: Phurkiya – Pindari Glacier & Back to Phurkiya/Dwali 

Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast. Begin the trek from Phurkiya and hike for 3-4 hours to reach the Pindari Glacier. Spend some time exploring the glacier and taking in the breathtaking views.

Day 05: Phurkiya/Dwali to Khati 

Wakeup early in the morning and have breakfast. begin the trek back to Khati, which takes around 7-8 hours. Check-in to a guest for an overnight stay and rest for the night.

Day 06: Khati – Kathgodam

Start early today and have breakfast. Board a taxi or bus to reach Kathgodam, which is a 6-8 hour drive from Khati. Reach Kathgodam in the afternoon and take a train or bus back to your destination.
