Jim Corbett National Park, located in Uttarakhand, is India’s first and oldest national park, established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. It was later renamed in honor of Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-turned-conservationist. Spanning over 1,318 sq. km, the park is famous for its rich biodiversity, scenic landscapes, and the majestic Bengal tiger.

Backdrop

Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, Jim Corbett National Park features dense Sal forests, vast grasslands, and riverine belts along the Ramganga River. It is part of Project Tiger, launched in 1973 to conserve the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger. With over 600 species of birds, 50 species of mammals, and diverse flora, it is a haven for wildlife lovers and photographers.
