Tso Moriri Lake

Tso Moriri, also known as Lake Moriri, is a stunning high-altitude lake nestled at 4,522 meters (14,836 feet) in the Changthang region of Ladakh. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and vast barren landscapes, the lake stretches over 28 km in length, making it the largest high-altitude lake entirely within India. Tso Moriri is part of the Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve, a Ramsar site, home to a variety of migratory birds, including the black-necked crane, bar-headed geese, and Brahminy ducks. The lake is considered sacred by the locals, and the nearby Korzok Monastery, one of the highest monasteries in the world, adds a spiritual touch to the serene environment.
