The Lam Dal Lake Trek is one of the most enchanting treks in the Dhauladhar range, offering a journey through seven sacred lakes nestled in a cradle-shaped vale beneath the Minkiani peak. This trek is a true delight for adventurers, accessible from both Kareri and Salli villages, areas renowned for their rich flora and fauna. The trail leads trekkers through a diverse landscape of alpine meadows, moraine ridges, glacier basins, pine forests, and ancient villages, providing spectacular valley views and a chance to immerse in the local lifestyle.
Lam Dal Lake, the largest and most scenic of the seven lakes, is the crown jewel of this trek. The route also takes you through the Minkiani Pass, offering mesmerizing views of streams, green landscapes, and dense jungles. The beauty of Lam Dal Lake is said to surpass even that of the famed Chandratal and Bhrigu Lake. The Dhauladhar range is particularly revered for its high-altitude glacial lakes, steeped in mythology and considered sacred by locals. These lakes, believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, attract pilgrims during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons.
