According to Hindu mythology, Rishikesh was where Lord Vishnu appeared to Raibhya Rishi as "Hrishikesh." The town gained global recognition when The Beatles visited Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s Ashram in 1968, making it a hub for yoga and meditation.
