Best Time to Visit

 

The best time to visit the Dodital Trek is from April to June and September to November. Summer (April-June) offers pleasant weather and clear skies, perfect for trekking. Autumn (September-November) brings cool temperatures and clear views of the Himalayas. Winter (December- March) is ideal for those seeking snow, but the trek can be more challenging due to cold temperatures. Monsoon (July-August) is not recommended due to slippery conditions and landslides.

How to Reach Base Camp?

 By Air 

The nearest airport to Agoda Village is Pantnagar Airport (PGH).

Distance: ~90 km from Agoda Village

How to reach from Pantnagar:

  • From the airport, you can hire a taxi to Haldwani, and from there, take a local bus or taxi to Agoda Village.
  • Alternatively, you can also hire a taxi directly from Pantnagar to Agoda Village.
  • Alternatively, you can fly into Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi, DEL) and take a train or bus from there.

By Train 

The nearest railway station is Haldwani Railway Station.

Distance: ~70 km from Agoda Village

How to reach from Haldwani:

  • From Haldwani, you can take a taxi or bus to Agoda Village. The journey usually takes around 2-3 hours, depending on road conditions.
  • Shared taxis are also available, which are a convenient option.
  • You can also reach Kathgodam Railway Station (around 85 km away) and follow the same route to Agoda Village via Haldwani.

By Road 

Agoda Village is well-connected by road to major towns and cities in Uttarakhand.

From Delhi:

  • Option 1: You can take a direct bus from Delhi to Haldwani (overnight buses are available) and then take a taxi or bus to Agoda Village.
  • Option 2: Drive from Delhi to Haldwani (approximately 7-9 hours), and then proceed to Agoda Village.
  • Option 3: Take a train to Haldwani, and then follow the same route as above.

From Nainital:

Agoda Village is approximately 45 km from Nainital. You can take a taxi or a shared vehicle from Nainital to Agoda Village, which takes about 1.5–2 hours.

From Haldwani:

 

Take a taxi or bus from Haldwani (around 2–3 hours of travel time).
